French Fantasies is a bakery and cafe in operation since 1993 in Toorak Road, South Yarra.

The brief was to grow the bakery production, shop and relocate the cafe into the neighbouring property. Wanting to preserve the good will and heritage of the cafe; the design expands on design elements found in the existing shopfront such as pressed tin, weathered timber and brass.

The cafe and bread-shop are spread across the two tenancies with a coffee station that bridges the zones and services the street. This provides patrons with diversity and options and creates an active street interface across the length of both shopfronts.
